Infostani International- A Severe fog has settled in various parts of the country, leading to the closure of highways and disruptions in flight and train operations. Sixteen individuals have lost their lives in diverse traffic accidents, and many others have sustained injuries. The extensive fog forced the authorities to shut down several motorways, including Motorway M1 from Rashkai Interchange to Peshawar Toll Plaza, Lahore-Islamabad Motorway M2 from Thokar Niaz Beg to Kot Sarwar, Motorway M3 from Faizpur to Sarandi, Motorway M4 from Multan to Abdul Halim Interchange, and Motorway M5 until Zahir Pir Sher Shah.

The Motorway Police spokesperson stressed the importance of using fog lights for urban travel, and dense fog on GT Road brought visibility to zero, causing a significant impact on traffic flow. Trains experienced considerable delays, causing inconvenience for passengers. Dense fog also affected PIA flights from Lahore, Multan, and Sialkot. The spokesperson advised passengers to check their flight status through the PIA call center before heading to the airport. Fatal Fog-Related Accidents Claim Lives Across Multiple Locations

On Multan Road Phulnagar Bypass. A car en route to Lahore Cattle Market Shahpur hit a pole, causing the death of a 45-year-old man. Additionally, a speeding pick-up vehicle near Bypass Okara struck and killed a woman working in a private factory in Okara. In Shahkot, two motorcyclists fell under a truck on GT Road due to fog, resulting in one fatality and severe injuries to the other. Two brothers sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle and car accident in Kanganpur near Kasur due to fog.
