During a Friday election rally in Burewala town of Vehari district, the former prime minister criticized the preceding PTI government for the sharp rise in inflation. He drew comparisons between the prices of essential items and utility tariffs during the PML-N government and the Imran Khan-led administration.
Sharif reminded the audience of the cost of living during his previous tenure, highlighting lower prices for essential items such as Roti, and contrasting it with the current scenario where electricity bills have surged from Rs500 to Rs20,000. He also noted that farm inputs and machinery are now five times more expensive.
While addressing the crowd, Sharif empathized with the youth, especially those facing unemployment, stating, “I love you, but it saddens me to learn that you are unemployed.” He attributed the issue of unemployment to the former PTI government, asserting that if his government had completed its term, there would be no unemployed youth today.
