Pervaiz Elahi on the charge of taking a bribe

Security bail from anti-corruption court and Lahore High Court in the new case, Sharif brothers first take illegal steps to keep Yashar under, then negotiate: Pervaiz Elahi

According to sources, last night the police and anti-corruption team raided the residence of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, the Tehreek-e-Insaf Central President and former Punjab Chief Minister, to arrest him. The team entered the house by jumping over walls and detained several guards and employees. The situation became tense when workers pelted stones at the police for trying to open the gate manually. The anti-corruption team had come to arrest Elahi for a case registered in Gujranwala on 6/23. However, Elahi’s legal team argued that he had been granted protective bail until May 6 by the court. Lahore High Court Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh granted Elahi protective bail until May 6 in the Gujranwala anti-corruption case.

Elahi’s lawyer argued that the case was filed based on bad faith and the High Court should approve the security bond so that they can approach the concerned court. Elahi said that the Sharif brothers took illegal steps to keep Yashar under control, then negotiated. He stated that wherever the Sharifs step, there is no good, and everything they do is fake.

The Anti-Corruption Court Lahore confirmed the temporary bail of former Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi on the charge of taking a bribe. The court ordered him to submit a bail bond of fifty thousand and stopped the anti-corruption team from arresting him until May 11. The temporary bail of other accused, including daughters-in-law in the money laundering case, has been extended until May 5.

During the bail hearing, eight people, including moonis Elahi’s wife Tahreem Elahi, brother Rasikh Elahi, and sister-in-law Zara Elahi, appeared in court, but the investigating officer could not appear due to leave. The court sought an investigation report from the FIA. The police had sealed the surrounding areas and stopped the movement of citizens during the raid on Elahi’s residence.
