Special Court Orders PTI Jail Trial Over Security Risks

Infostani Sources- Haj Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain of the Special Court of the Official Secrets Act directed the Adiala Jail hearing of Saa Farkis and instructed the jail authorities to make arrangements. The Superintendent of Adiala Jail submitted a security report to the court, which relied on information from Islamabad Police, IB, and Special Branch. The report indicated a serious threat to the life of Chairman PTI. The court thoroughly examined the Superintendent’s report, revealing an increased threat to Chairman PTI’s life. Considering past incidents of PTI workers storming the judicial complex, the court deems it unsafe for Chairman PTI and others.

Therefore, the court orders the commitment of Syah Farkis Kattar to Adiala Jail. Since Chairman PTI’s trial is in Adiala Jail, Shah Mehmood Qureshi will also be there. PTI’s jail trial will be open, allowing the accused’s lawyers and five family members to observe. The media, public, and interested individuals can attend the trial adhering to prison rules and manuals. The next hearing is scheduled for Friday, December 1.

Earlier, Haj Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain presided over Saa Farkis’ hearing in the Dashal Complex. Present were the lawyers, PTI Chairman’s sisters, and Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s daughter. The jail authorities presented a report, citing serious security concerns for Chairman PTI, making his production impossible. Barrister Salman Safdar argued that it’s the jail authorities’ responsibility to produce the PTI Chairman, and there’s no basis for this correspondence. He suggested closing down the judicial complex to bring in the accused. The FIA prosecutor objected, stating it was a nullification of the letter and shouldn’t be read publicly.
